Great food. I got the yellow curry, the beef skewers and the chicken pad thai. All of it was superb. The only thing I wish was better was the spice. You can get spicy from 1-4 (4 being the hottest.) We got 4 and I could barelyfeel the spice. This is the sole reason I bumped it from 5 to 4 stars. The dinning area was very clean, the bathrooms were so clean that I could have eaten apps out of the toilet. .the owner was there and he was very friendly. I'm a happier man after eating at tghis establishment. If you need that frown turned upside down, go to this Mongkut Thai Restro.

I was just strolling around the farmer's market and found this place. OMG this place is a hidden gem. The taste of the food is surprisingly delicious. I really meant it. It's very tasty. I ordered crying tiger, Icarus burning wings and sticky rice with mango. When I said, you won't regret ordering from here, you won't regret it. A great vegetarian dinner this evening. It's been about 7 years since I've last eaten here, moved out of town and really missed it. Visiting and had dinner and find and service area as good as 7 years ago.

I got the pad see ew with beef and a Thai tea. The pad see ew was flavorful, but the beef had a soggy texture and was also very stringy. The portion was smaller than expected compared to every other Thai place I've eaten at. Maybe their other meats are cooked better.The Thai tea was tasty, but the cup size was disappointingly small (8 oz) for $5.It was okay, and I won't be returning here again.

Delicious Thai Food at a reasonable price served by a friendly owner. Looked for a quick lunch spot while visiting with 2 co-workers and so glad we found Mongkut Thai. The owner was very kind & accomodating. The service was fast & the food was delicious. The spice level was okay (think you need to order the real Thai spice—go beyond 4). Not a ton of options on the lunch menu ($8.99) but what we had was delicious.

We stopped by this Thai restaurant for lunch when we are at San Clemente. The owner and chef are Thai so the food are authentic. We ordered 5 lunch special and the portion is good and reasonable price. The Satay with fried rice are good. The Pad Thai and egg rolls are yummy too. Green Curry is delicious. The seafood noodles soup has good broth and seafood, but the flat rice noodles is a bit hard, not soft enough. Will definitely try again when I am in the area.

Great customer service. Thai tea was too sweet for me. Papaya salad lacks of sweetness and saltiness. The portion was small compared with rice amount they gave for green curry. Tom Yum Koong was too salty. The only good dish I tried was Pad See Ew Beef. Perfect balance between meat and noodles.

A place like Mongkut has been around for as long as it has for good reason. The service is solid, and the food is consistently fresh and delicious. Had the chicken combo lunch special today, and the green curry, rice, and eggplant were all fresh and wonderful. A great meal and a great value. Mongkut, don't ever change! And if you're visiting, check it out!! One of the local places you need to add to the list.

I had a fantastic experience at this place. We liked the excellent ambience and the menu. The staff are super welcoming. I am glad we finally managed to try this restaurant.

Best Thai Food my tongue has ever tasted. Everytime I stay in San Clemente I have to eat there. Everyone working is super friendly. I'm home now, thinking about this place and I want to get in my car and drive 2 hours so I can have a full belly of goodness.

The staff makes you feel like family. They have a few different takes on Thai. If you like spicy, you might want to ask for a little extra heat, our dishes were on the mild side.

This restaurant is located in the main tourist core in San Clemente. The service is excellent. Most dishes in the menu are gentle, suitable for all visitors. The price is reasonable.

At the first moment you come to this restaurant the stuff gives you a good feeling. Very warm waiters, it is a nice place to go out with your friends or with your date. heavenly meals, experienced chief cook and stuff, decent pay and generous service. Warmly recommended.
